“Faith isn’t fulfilled by feeling, but by obeying. Discover how to move with God when He speaks.”
“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:26
Preliminary Thought:
When God speaks, He’s not just informing us; He’s inviting us, His Children, to act. Every revelation is a seed that must be watered with obedience. Revelation without response is of no consequence.
True faith is not passive; it steps ahead, even when unsure. It moves in obedience, even when the outcome isn’t clear.
The righteous walk by faith, that’s why the bible says, the path of the righteous goes from brighter and brighter. This is because that path is walked by faith otherwise, there is no progress.
Revelation always calls for responsibility. Faith responds by moving in obedience.
Let’s look at Scripture:
Abraham’s Obedience into the unknown:
“By faith Abraham… obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” — Hebrews 11:8
Noah Building without physical evidence of need:
“By faith Noah… built an ark to save his family.” — Hebrews 11:7
The Woman with the Issue of Blood: Reaching Faith
“She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak…” — Luke 8:44
Each one of these patriarchs in the faith stepped out. Faith wasn’t something they felt; it was something they did. Our emotions (feelings) will fail us, even when the call for action is loud
Between Revelation and Fulfillment
There is always a gap between what God says and when it comes to pass. That gap must be filled by faith in motion. Not just waiting; walking.
“Every place you set your foot will be yours…” Joshua 1:3
Joshua didn’t just hear the promise; he had to walk it out to see it fulfilled. The waiting season is only sustained by the faith generated from the revelation received. Faith comes from the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The revelation (God’s Word) is the same grace that transports you to the fulfillment of that very revelation
Some revelations need growth before fulfillment, because God is preparing us to carry the promise responsibly. God is Interested primarily in making us
What Holds Us Back?
- Lack of Faith (Matthew 17:20)
- Impatience and Lack of Endurance (Hebrews 10:36)
- Disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:1)
- Doubt and Double-Mindedness (James 1:6-7)
- Fear of Giants/Opposition (Numbers 13:31-33)
- Fear of failure (2 Timothy 1:7)
- Wrong Timing/Premature Action (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
- Waiting for perfect timing (Ecclesiastes 11:4)
- A Desire for full clarity, seeking unnecessary confirmation, and sometimes from men, instead of from God. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
- Lack of Spiritual Maturity (Galatians 4:1-2)
- Becoming too comfortable hearing without doing (familiarity) (James 1:22)
Let’s not be collectors of revelation – let’s be Activators.
🔍Reflection:
- 🗝What has God spoken to me that I haven’t acted on?
- 🗝Where have I delayed obedience?
- 🗝What’s one simple step of faith I can take today?
🙏🏽 Prayer of Activation:
Lord, stir my faith into action. Let me not be content with hearing Your voice, I want to follow it. Break the grip of hesitation, fear, and delay. Give me the strength to obey even when I don’t see the full picture. I surrender again today to move where You lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Faith Step:
- Revisit a word or promise God gave you.
- Write down the next step He is asking you to take.
- Share it with a trusted friend or mentor who can pray with you.
